A special birthday celebration in Saint Margaret Mercy’s Cardiac Rehab

DYER-Francis Scheidt of St. John, Ind. briskly entered Saint Margaret Mercy’s Cardiac Rehab on Thursday, Nov. 17, wearing a brand-new Cubs jacket and bearing a sack of birthday treats for the staff and fellow patients. He had a milestone to celebrate-his 90th. Unlike run-of-the-mill milestones, this one bore no “over the hill” themes. The 14-year veteran of Saint Margaret Mercy’s Cardiac Rehab shows few signs of aging. Important activities include a weekly game of golf and following the Cubs. Since 1928 he’s been an avid fan; the jacket was a gift from his family, who threw a birthday celebration the previous Saturday at Teibel’s restaurant in Schererville, with 114 in attendance. Cardiac Rehab hosted their own celebration, complete with birthday cake (no candles).
