names December GEM
HAMMOND-Whiting resident Rosa Lopez, clinical reimbursement
specialist in the Perinatal Center, is the December GEM (Going
the Extra Mile) at Saint Margaret Mercy’s Hammond Campus.
The co-worker who nominated Lopez said, “Rosa takes pride
in her work at all times. She is a dedicated member of the Saint
Margaret Mercy family and goes over and beyond her duties to
help others. She readily accepts any task regardless of the challenge.
She recently took on a difficult role in the department without
hesitation. She is an asset to the hospital and to the unit.”
Lopez’ supervisor said, “Rosa manages all of her
duties with a smile and a positive attitude. Her co-workers,
including the doctors, like her and appreciate her professionalism
and office demeanor. She is accurate and precise.”
Lopez has been employed at Saint Margaret Mercy for nine years.
Saint Margaret Mercy’s monthly GEM award is designed to
show appreciation for hospital employees who consistently perform
their duties while treating others with respect, dignity, fairness
and compassion. Peers anonymously nominate those employees who
best exemplify the mission and philosophy of the hospital.
Winners of the GEM award receive a reserved parking space for
one month, a recognition pin, certificate of award and an invitation
to attend an annual luncheon with the president and executive
vice president of the hospital. President Tom Gryzbek, states: “Many
of our employees go that extra mile to provide quality care to
our patients. The GEM award is one way we can recognize
their efforts.” |
