Saint Margaret Mercy’s South Campus
in Dyer offers treatment of high-risk pregnancy close to home

a referral center for high-risk pregnancy to treat conditions
such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, multiple gestations
and history of premature or stillbirth. Appointments at the Fetal
Medicine Clinic are available on Mondays and Thursdays.
The clinic uses targeted 3D ultrasound to detect many structural
fetal abnormalities such as congenital heart disease, spina bifida,
brain abnormalities, limb deformities, and kidney or bowel abnormalities.
Other services include
Co-management of conditions such as diabetes that requires insulin,
and hypertension, both chronic and pregnancy-induced.
Antenatal (pre-natal) testing for fetal well-being that includes
biophysical profile (BPP)/Doppler studies and non-stress testing,
which determines how well the placenta delivers oxygen to the
baby.
Prenatal diagnosis, such as amniocentesis, for diagnosis of genetic
disorders and chromosome abnormalities in the developing fetus.
Howard Grundy, MD, and Leonard Feinkind, MD, board-certified
perinatologists from Maternal-Fetal Medicine Consultants of Illinois,
