SAINT MARGARET MERCY CELEBRATES RESPECT FOR LIFE AT ANNUAL PRAYER SERVICE
|
Saint Margaret Mercy’s celebration of Respect for Life in October will culminate on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at the Hospital’s Dyer Campus. The Most Reverend Dale Melczek, Bishop of the Gary Diocese, in company with children from area schools, will preside over the annual prayer service and cross installation on the southeast lawn at 9:30 a.m. The children will assist with the installation of 4,000 white and red crosses that symbolize the number of abortions performed daily in the United States. The prayer service will conclude with the release of hundreds of pink and blue balloons that carry the message to “Respect Life.”
Our Respect for Life goes far beyond our stance against abortion; Saint Margaret Mercy offers care for • The working poor through the Catherine McAuley Clinic in Hammond • Senior citizens who need the assistance of the Volunteer Advocates for Seniors (VAS) • Teen moms who wait for their babies at the St. Monica Home in Dyer • Youth who need redirection at the St. Francis Center in Dyer • Patients with life-limiting illness via our Palliative Care • Patients who need the spiritual support of a Patient Companion
We cherish our freedom and our mission to build a culture of life every day, in every way. It’s our banner, and we proudly wave it. Please do join us. If you can attend, please call Linda Barenie. Contact information is above.
