Important Information about Hoosier Healthwise

Enroll at Saint Margaret Mercy

Hoosier Healthwise is a health insurance program for Indiana children, low-income families and pregnant women. Healthcare is provided at little or no cost to Indiana families enrolled in the program.

There are four benefit packages:

Package A — Standard Plan:
Provides comprehensive healthcare coverage to eligible adults and children. There are no premiums.

Package B — Pregnancy Coverage:
Provides coverage for prenatal care, treatment of conditions that may complicate pregnancy, delivery and 60 days of after-pregnancy care. There are no premiums.

Package C — Children’s Health Plan:
Provides comprehensive healthcare coverage for children under age 19. There is a premium based on family income and the number of children covered.

Package E — Emergency Services Only:
Provides coverage for treatment of serious medical emergencies. This plan is for certain immigrants, such as those who are in the United States without lawful papers from the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

Saint Margaret Mercy is an enrollment center for Hoosier Healthwise. You may file an application at Saint Margaret Mercy’s Hammond Campus or Dyer Campus. A financial counselor conducts interviews. Your application will be considered for all benefit packages for which your family might be eligible. The Division of Family and Children office determines eligibility.
